Be sure to have the following ready:<\/p><ul><li>Are the drawings PE stamped?<\/li><li>What fire rating is required for our jurisdiction?<\/li><li>Does the design meet current NFPA and IFC expectations?<\/li><li>Has the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) reviewed similar structures from this manufacturer?<\/li><\/ul><p id=\"ember993\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">With executives, translate this into business language: failed inspections, forced retrofits, and operational shutdowns are significantly more expensive than specifying correctly at the start.<\/p><p id=\"ember994\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\"><strong>Second, shift the focus from purchase price to total cost of ownership.<\/strong><\/p><p id=\"ember995\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Procurement teams are measured on cost control. EHS leaders are measured on incident prevention and compliance. Those priorities <strong>can<\/strong> align if you introduce total cost of ownership into the conversation.<\/p><p id=\"ember996\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Lower upfront cost may mean:<\/p><ul><li>Shorter structural lifespan in harsh environments<\/li><li>Higher maintenance requirements<\/li><li>Inadequate corrosion resistance<\/li><li>Limited scalability as chemical volumes increase<\/li><li>A purely transactional engagement without support<\/li><\/ul><p id=\"ember998\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Frame the discussion around lifecycle risk. A properly engineered building reduces the probability of fire events, environmental releases, OSHA citations, and insurance complications.
